11.1

Motorized Nosepiece Operation

To switch objectives attached to a motorized nosepiece, press
the OBJ CW/CCW button.
The nosepiece rotates to the adjacent address
clockwise/counterclockwise each time the OBJ CW/CCW button
is pressed.
Attachment information display for the objective is disabled by
factory default.
Set the attachment information and switch the objective. The
information on the objective on the optical path will be displayed
on the display panel.
Set the attachment information from DS-L3. (See "23 Operation
on DS-L3" - "23.1 Setting Up the Microscope - (1) Setting
Optical Elements Installation Information" for details.)

Limiting the Motorized Nosepiece Operation
You can make the settings as shown below to prevent the objective and a specimen from contacting due to the rotation of
the motorized nosepiece.
■ Z position nosepiece rotation stop
Since the focal depth of the objective with low magnification is deep, the objective may get too closer to a specimen
during microscopy. When the objective is switched to a high magnification objective in this case, the tip of the objective
may contact the specimen. This is to prevent the danger and to disable the rotation of the motorized nosepiece when
the elevating section is above than the designated position.
The configured upper limit is applied to all the nosepiece addresses.
When the rotation stop keeps the nosepiece from rotating, the display panel on the front of the Ni-E microscope
indicates that "the rotation stopped" and you hear a buzz. (Beep)
To reset the function:
 Disable the rotation stop,
 or enable the motorized Z control to increase distances
between the stage and the objective.
