In order to set the rotation stop, a motorized nosepiece must be attached.
"Rotation stop" is disabled by factory default.
Configuration is performed on DS-L3. (See "23 Operation on DS-L3" - "23.1 Setting Up the Microscope - (4-3) Z
Position Nosepiece Rotation Stop" for details.)
Effect of the vibration
When vibration should slightly move the elevating section around the setting value, the motorized nosepiece may
rotate.
■ Rotate nosepiece reversely
Usually, attach an objective with the lowest magnification to Address 1 of the nosepiece, and then attach an objective with
higher magnification in the ascending order of the address for use. For a sextuple/septuple nosepiece, an objective with
the lowest magnification is attached to adjacent Address 1 and the one with the highest magnification to Address 6/7.
This is to prevent the objective from switching from Address 1 to Address 6/7 directly when using the OBJ CW/CCW
button to indicate the rotation of the nosepiece. On DS-L3's [MICROSCOPE CONTROL] screen, pressing the button of
an objective you want to bring into the optical path, the motorized nosepiece rotates toward the designated address in the
minimum distance. Also in this case, it prevents the objective from switching from Address 1 to Address 6/7 directly.
In order to limit the reverse rotation, a motorized nosepiece must be attached.
"Rotation stop" is disabled by factory default.
Perform configuration on DS-L3. (See "23 Operation on DS-L3" - "23.1 Setting Up the Microscope - (4-4) Nosepiece
Reverse Rotation" for details.)
Toggling the motorized nosepiece
A sample can be observed by microscope while switching two objectives set in advance alternately using the toggle
function. Use the OBJ CW/CCW button to switch the objectives. You can set two patterns for the objectives to be used
with the toggle function: "Toggle pattern 1" and "Toggle pattern 2".
In order to perform this setting, the motorized nosepiece must be attached.
"Toggle operation OFF" is set by factory default.
Perform configuration on DS-L3. (See "23 Operation on DS-L3" - "23.1 Setting Up the Microscope - (4-5) Nosepiece
Toggle" for details.)
Nosepiece reverse rotation and toggle operation
When you set both "NOSEPIECE REVERSE ROTATION" and "NOSEPIECE TOGGLE" together and drive the
nosepiece from DS-L3 or a PC connected using a USB, the nosepiece moves as follows:
<Example>
Set as "NOSEPIECE REVERSE ROTATION: LIMITED", "Toggle pattern 11: Address 1, Address 6"
 Case 1:
Pressing the PBJ CW/CCW button of the Ni-E main body when the nosepiece is at Address 1 moves it
from 1→2→3→4→5→6
 Case 2:
Pressing the OBJ CW/CCW button of the Ni-E main body when the nosepiece is at Address 6 moves it
from 6->5->4->3->2->1.
 Case 3:
Pressing the Address 6 button of the nosepiece on the DS-L3's [MICROSCOPE CONTROL] screen when
the nosepiece is at Address 1 moves it from 1->2->3->4->5->6.
 Case 4:
Pressing the Address 1 button of the nosepiece on the DS-L3's [MICROSCOPE CONTROL] screen when
the nosepiece is at Address 6 moves it from 6->5->4->3->2->1.
