■ Manual DSC zooming port
Work with the zoom operation with the zoom dial on the right
of the zooming port. The dial is indexed in 0.2x increments.
Use these indexes for reference in making adjustments. The
dial will click at 0.6x, 1x, 1.5x, and 2x magnification.
A click can be enabled or disabled. Hold down and rotate a
hexagon socket screw on the bottom (tool size 4) clockwise
to remove a click of the knob at the switching of the
magnification. Use this if you need to eliminate slight
vibrations resulting from the clicking action.
Limited zoom range
Note that the zoom range may be limited depending on
capture conditions or type of the camera when using a DS
camera made by other manufacturers.
Limb darkening in zooming port
 When performing bright field microscopy with a tube
directly attached to the arm, the edge of the field of
view may be dark at zoom magnification 0.6x for low
magnification objectives.
 When performing bright field microscopy with a
two-layered epi-fluorescence cube turret, the edge of
the field of view may be dark at zoom magnification
0.6x for low magnification objectives.
 When performing epi-fluorescence microscopy with a
two-layered epi-fluorescence cube turret, the edge of
the field of view may be dark at zoom magnification
0.6x for 10x to 40x objectives.
