Stage rotation
The rotatable ceramic coated stage allows you to rotate the
specimen under observation. To adjust the orientation of the
specimen, loosen the rotation clamp screw on the stage, and
then rotate the stage as necessary. This capability is useful in
aligning the specimen with the shearing direction to enhance
contrast under differential interference contrast microscopy.
The stage can rotate up to 190° clockwise and 7°
counterclockwise from the reference position (rotation angle:
0°).
■ Centering the rotatable ceramic coated stage
(1)
Bring the 10x objective into the optical path and focus on
the sample. Identify a distinguishable point of the
sample as the target. Using the stage knobs, move the
target to the center of the field of view.
(2)
Loosen the stage rotation clamp screw, and then rotate
the stage by 180°.
(3)
If the target moves away from the center of the field of
view, turn the two stage centering screws with a hex
driver to move the target halfway back towards the center.
(4)
Use the stage knobs to move the target back to the
center of the field of view.
(5)
Bring the 40x objective into the optical path, and repeat
steps 2 to 4.
 The two stage centering screws are located at the back of
the substage.
 Use the stage centering screws with two ball-pointed hex
drivers.
 After centering the stage, use the stage rotation clamp
screws to secure the stage in place.
 The stage positioning screw is located at the front of the
sub stage.
Adjusting the knob heights
The heights (positions) of the X knob and Y knob can be
changed.
Hold the knob and move it along the vertical axis to the desired
height.
