<Field diaphragm: Example: Intelligent Setting>
• Attach Address 3 of the motorized nosepiece: PlanApo20x NA 0.75, which is set to the field diaphragm [100%].
• Attach Address 4 of the motorized nosepiece: PlanApo60x NA 0.95, which is set to the field diaphragm [INTELLIGENT].
• The initial value of [INTELLIGENT] is set to the factory default.
Under the conditions above, a nosepiece drive causes the field diaphragm to interlock as shown below.
1.
The motorized quadrocular tilting tube is set to BINO and the motorized nosepiece is positioned at Address 2.
2.
Drive the motorized nosepiece to Address 4. → [INTELLIGENT] sets the field diaphragm to 2.8 (mm) (positioned at
100%).
3.
With the motorized nosepiece at Address 4, press the [DIA field diaphragm] button of the Ni-E microscope to set the
field diaphragm to 1.4 (mm).
4.
Drive the motorized nosepiece to Address 3. → [OBJECTIVE INTERLOCK] sets the field diaphragm to 8.3 (mm)
(positioned at 100%).
5.
Drive the nosepiece to Address 4. [INTELLIGENT] sets the field diaphragm to 1.4 (mm).
=>
At this point, when nosepiece address 4 is set to [100%], field diaphragm will be at 2.8 mm (100%).
By setting to [INTELLIGENT], the operation at address 4 is stored as an adjustment parameter and this
position is reproduced when returning to address 4 even after switching to another nosepiece address.
Saving the [INTELLIGENT] setting
Parameters adjusted with the [INTELLIGENT] settings of
the "A. STOP", "F. STOP", and "ND" will be reset once
DS-L3 is powered off. In order to use the [INTELLIGENT]
setting for the next microscopy, be sure to press the
[SAVE] button to save the settings.
Restore the changed default of [INTELLIGENT]
to the factory setting.
When the information of the object is reset, the default
[INTELLIGENT] of that nosepiece address is restored to
the factory setting.
See Chapter 3, "23 Operation on DS-L3 - 23.1 Setting Up
the Microscope - (1) Setting Optical Elements Installation
Information" for details on setting objective information.
Manually rotating the nosepiece
Interlock works after the nosepiece has come to the click
stop position when rotating the nosepiece manually. Note
that interlocking operation of "Escape (Retraction of the
elevating section)" and "ALF (Parfocal correction)" is not
performed.
No interlocking takes place even if interlocking has been
set when rotating the nosepiece manually in sleep mode.

Individual Operations
Interlocking
• ON (with the button checked)
Interlocks the drive speed of the ergo
controller, joystick, XY focus knob, and
the stage XY knob.
The operation switch for the ergo
controller/joystick is set as shown
below depending on the magnification
of the objective.
• 2x, 4x, 10x:
Coarse
• 20x, 40x:
Fine
• 60x, 100x:
Extra fine
• OFF (default setting)
139
Conditions for interlocked operation
Requires to connect a motorized/intelligent
nosepiece (that requires defined objective
information), motorized quadrocular tilting
tube, and a motorized universal condenser,
and a motorized XY stage needs to be
connected for the XY speed.
