The next step in upgrading software is to arm the switch with the new release file.
From priv-exec mode, use the
boot system release-file
where release-file (1-255 characters) identifies the desired release file.
On a busy system, this can take more than one minute.
For example, the following command sequence arms the switch with the "test5.rel"
file and then verifies that the switch is properly armed:
bstnA6k# boot system test5.rel
% INFO: The boot system command may take up to 5 minutes to
complete.
bstnA6k# show releases
releases
test2.rel
R
test3.rel
test4.rel
A B test5.rel
bstnA6k# ...
The final step in upgrading software is to reboot the switch and activate the armed
release file. From priv-exec mode, use the
reload
command to arm the ARX:
boot system
May 20 07:55
May 20 10:33
May 20 12:22
May 20 13:24
command to reboot the switch:
reload
