Showing the Version of a Release File
CLI Maintenance Guide
Use the
show releases
build date for the file:
show releases file
where file (1-255 characters) is the release-file name.
This shows the version number, time/date when the release was built, and the user that
performed the build. For example:
bstnA6k# show releases test4.rel
Version 2.01.004.08731 (Mar 10 2006 18:33:05) [nbuilds]

Validating the Release File
It is possible for the release file to be incomplete after it downloads. You can verify
the integrity of the file by comparing its current checksum, a file signature based on its
contents, against the checksum it had when it was built. Use the
command to run a checksum test on the release file:
show releases
show releases file verbose
A successful checksum shows as "Passed" in the output. For example:
provA5c# show releases test4.rel verbose
Version 2.01.004.08731 (Mar 10 2006 18:33:05) [nbuilds]
Checksum: Passed
provA5c# ...
If the checksum fails, retry the
Copying a Release File to the Switch
command on a release file to view the release version and
command.
