Configuring a Source Server for the Restore
An external-filer configuration is required to accommodate multi-homed filers.

Once the back-end file or directory is identified, you need to identify a file server with
its backed-up file(s). This is the source for the restore operation. In some installations,
this may be a staging area for files recovered from archival media, such as backup
tapes. The file server is called the backup server in this manual. To identify the
backup server, configure it as an external filer on the ARX. (For detailed instructions
on this, refer to
Chapter 6, Adding an External Filer
Guide.)
For example, the following command sequence sets up a file server at 192.168.25.51:
bstnA6k(gbl)# external-filer nasE1
bstnA6k(gbl-ext-filer[nasE1])# ip address 192.168.25.51
bstnA6k(gbl-ext-filer[nasE1])# ...
