CLI Maintenance Guide
To prevent locking contention with CIFS clients, the policy engine does not migrate
or replicate (shadow-copy) any files that are already opened by CIFS clients for
writes. It typically queues each open file and retries later, perhaps after all clients have
closed the file. In some cases, files need to be closed manually for the migration or
replication to fully succeed. To list the files currently opened by CIFS clients, use the
show cifs-service open-files
show cifs-service open-files {fqdn | all}
where fqdn | all is a required choice:
fqdn (1-128 characters) is the fully-qualified domain name (for example,
www.company.com) for the CIFS service's global server.
all selects all CIFS services on the current switch.
If remote-Windows management is allowed for this CIFS service (see
Clients to Use Windows Management (MMC)" on page 11-22
Storage-Management
Guide), authorized clients can use MMC to list these files.
For each open file, this shows the client's IP address and identity, the NSM processor
that is serving the file to the client, the file and server information that the client
application sees, the location of the file at the back-end filer, and some other
information about the file. Each NSM processor assigns its own set of file IDs, so the
same
may be reused by multiple processors.
