Parameter Measurements
Besides parameter measurements made during acquisition, post-acquisition
measurements can also be made. The number of parameters available
depends on the options loaded on your instrument. Measurements are
made only on the events defined by your filter (search criteria). A Filter
Wizard is provided to quickly establish statistical criteria such as ±1, 3, or 5
sigma.
Sampling Mode
Whenever WaveScan is enabled, the instrument reverts to Real-time
sampling mode.
Customization Overview
You can customize the instrument to your needs by using the power of
programs such as Excel™, Mathcad™, and MATLAB™ or by scripting in VBS.
Add your own parameters, functions, display algorithms, or other routines
to the oscilloscope user interface and make them an integral part of the
instrument's application environment. Whichever method you use, the
results appear on the instrument's display together with the acquired
signals. This offers a tremendous ability to solve unique problems for a large
range of applications, with comparatively little effort from you.
Instrument customization provides these important capabilities:
You can export data to external programs and display the results on
the instrument, without leaving the oscilloscope environment.
Once the result is returned, you can perform additional oscilloscope
operations—such as measuring with cursors, calculating parameters,
or performing math functions on the waveform—in exactly the same
way as for a captured waveform.
You can program the oscilloscope yourself.
The instrument does not just exchange data with other programs; it
provides true interaction with these other programs, which allows you to
write the parameter, function, or program you need to do the exact job you
want to do and make it part of the oscillosocpe interface. For example, you
can do an Excel calculation on a measurement with a MATLAB function
applied to it, all from the instrument display.
