Details
This attribute stores a string that contains a description of the instrument. This value appears on LXI
welcome page of the instrument. The value of this attribute is also used as the mDNS service name
of the instrument.
The factory default value of this attribute is "Keithley Instruments SMU <model number> - <serial
number>", where <model number> and <serial number> are replaced with the actual model number
and serial number of the instrument (for example, "Keithley Instruments SMU 2651A - 1349810").
Setting this attribute to an empty string (in other words, setting this attribute to a string of length zero
or a string consisting entirely of whitespace characters) reverts the description to the factory default
value.
When using this command from a remote node, replace localnode with the node reference, for
example node[5].description.
