Chapter 67 OSPF
DESCRIPTION
Route redistribution allows your Switch to import and translate the following external routes into
the OSPF network transparently:
routes learned through RIP routing protocol, or
Static routes that are configured manually, or
Connected routes to the interfaces that are directly connected to the Switch interfaces.
These interfaces must have an IP address, such as a loopback interface, DHCP interface, or
VLAN interface.
The Switch will send out the external routes information to other routers in the OSPF network
through LSAs.
Enable the switch button to activate route redistribution for routes learned through the selected
protocol.
Select 1 for routing protocols (such as RIP) whose external metrics are directly comparable to
the internal OSPF cost. When selecting a path, the internal OSPF cost is added to the AB
boundary router to the external metrics.
Select 2 for routing protocols whose external metrics are not comparable to the OSPF cost. In this
case, the external cost of the AB boundary router is used in path decision to a destination.
Enter a route cost (between 0 and 16777215). The default metric value is 15.
Click Apply to save your changes to the Switch's run-time memory. The Switch loses these
changes if it is turned off or loses power, so use the Save link on the top navigation panel to save
your changes to the non-volatile memory when you are done configuring.
Click Cancel to begin configuring this screen afresh.
