Field Operation

When using the Power Sweep, follow this procedure:
1. Clear the area of bystanders, especially small children,
before starting.
2. Review the Pre-Operation Checklist
TION CHECKLIST" On Page 4-4)
3. Review the Workplace Hazards schematics and use extra
care when inside the hazard area. Keep all spectators and
bystanders out of this area. Should anyone enter this area,
stop the machine immediately.

Before Filling the Bin with Grain

Following this list will prevent problems that may otherwise
occur during the unloading process.
1. Check for damage or unusual wear, especially on flighting
and bearings.
2. Make sure there are no obstructions in the following
locations:
• The Power Sweep path along the grain bin floor,
Power Sweep and u-trough auger flighting.
• The Center Hopper Sump or Intermediate Hopper
Sump(s).
3. Prior to filling the grain bin each time, run the U-Trough
underfloor auger system to check for proper operation.
4. Close the Center Hopper Sump or Intermediate Hopper
Sump(s) gates.

ALWAYS LOAD AND UNLOAD FROM THE CENTER OF THE GRAIN BIN
• The center hopper gate must be opened first to empty the grain bin.
• Only when grain stops flowing from the center hopper can the intermediate hopper gates
can be opened.
Failure to comply could result in structural damage, serious injury,
or death.

5. Park the Power Sweep in the "Start/Park Position"
slightly behind intermediate sumps prior to filling the bin
each time.

Failure to park the Power Sweep in the "Start/Park Po-
sition" could result in damage to the Power Sweep,
U-Trough auger flighting, and/or aeration floor.
6. Place the Power Sweep Engagement Lever to the
"Disengaged" position so the Power Sweep gear box is
disengaged.

7. Fill the bin from center opening to manufacturer's speci-
fications.
