Troubleshooting Field Problems (Cont.)
Underfloor flighting is
noisy.
Power Sweep engaged
and running, but not
advancing
U-Trough auger is unable
to move the grain that the
sweep is dumping into
the center hopper.
6 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Flighting connection to powerhead shaft is
loose.
Center gearbox spline connection is not
straight.
Flighting is bent.
Backboard catching on bin floor.
Rubber on wheel wore down.
Grain condition wet, hard-packed, moldy
End wheel contacting bin wall or protruding
grain bin bolts.
Obstruction in center hopper.
Intermediate hopper(s) are open, flooding the
U-Trough auger.
Flighting is not timed correctly on the U-Trough
auger.
Remove flange connector bolts and pull out the
flighting and ensure all hardware is tightened.
Ensure gearbox is set straight into the U-trough.
Remove U-Trough flighting.
straightness by rolling across flat concrete area.
Straighten or replace as necessary.
Ensure backboard clearance is at 1/4" from grain
bin floor.
Replace with new rubber drive wheel.
Sweep will perform poorly if grain is out of
condition
Adjust sweep away from bin wall, and or cut or
grind protruding bolts.
Remove obstruction.
Close intermediate hoppers.
Pull out underfloor flighting, ensure that flighting is
not damaged. (Flighting must make a continuous
spiral).
