6.25.1. Closed Caption via GPIs

This feature allows the user to shift the baseline of the CEA-608 captions up by 2 to 4 lines. This feature
is used when weather crawl information is keyed onto the SD-SDI video. GPI's 1 through 8 can be
selected to enable or disable this function. The Caption Shift Down GPI control is identical. For the sake
of brevity, only the Caption Shift Up GPI control will be discussed in the manual. This control can also
be used to enable telnet ports on the 7812UDXD. Select the operation of this GPI for closed caption with
the following selections shown in the drop down menu below:

6.25.2. Recall Presets via GPIs

To use GPIO1 as a GPI and to further configure it for recalling a card preset, click on the Recall Preset
radio button. Ensure that a black dot is present inside this circle. The 7812UDXD series converter
modules provide ten user presets, which can be recalled when GPIO1 is activated. Using the drop down
menu, select which user preset should be recalled when GPIO1 is activated.
