Cryogenic Systems Operation
For optimum performance when the cryogenic system is
restarted, the Agilent Cold Probe and cryogenic system
should be kept clean, dry and under vacuum.
The CryoBay can continue to pump on the Agilent Cold
Probe cryostat when not actively cooling.
1
Cryogenic system must be in the Idle state.
2
Place a dust cover over the top of the Agilent Cold Probe
(if out of the magnet).
Open the CryoBay Controls popup window.
3
From the Options drop down menu, select Advanced.
4
The advanced window will open.
Click the Pump Probe button, as seen in
5
page 40.
The system status changes to Pumping Probe.
6
The CryoBay Controls popup window may be closed.
7
The system status changes to Idle when the turbo pump
8
reaches full speed. The turbo pump continues to operate.
9
Click the Detach button, as seen in
page 40, after the system status returns to Idle to stop
vacuum pumping of the probe.
The cryogenic transfer line is vented as a normal part of Detach.

10
returns to Idle.
