CryoBay Sample Eject Air and Sample Catcher

The CryoBay sample eject air lifts the sample tube out of the
Agilent Cold Probe when a cryogenics system fault causes
the system to go into the Safe state. The sample catcher, as
seen in
Figure
44, is designed to safely catch and hold the
sample, preventing the sample from falling back down in the
event of a pneumatic gas failure.
Some sample catcher versions have an upper barrel clamp as
part of the design. For certain Agilent Cold Probe mounting
designs in use with adjustable upper barrels, this clamp
allows the user to recognize the Stop when inserting the
probe.
The CryoBay sample eject air and sample catcher are
optional. The sample catcher may be disabled by sliding the
sample catcher switch to the right. If the CryoBay sample
eject air will not be used, it is recommended that the eject
air line be closed off by closing the CryoBay sample eject air
valve.

only a sample catcher)
Changes in the house pneumatic gas supply, probe or sample may
affect the adjustment of the sample air eject. It is advisable to verify
both console and CryoBay sample eject performance when
changing probes or samples of significantly different weights.
