Cryogenic Systems Operation
Figure 7
Vibration damper
The vibration damping pier should be approximately
half- way between the CryoBay and probe.
It is preferred that the vibration damping pier be
oriented so that the cryogenic transfer arm has a bend
angle of 90 degrees. The minimum bend radius is 50 cm
(20 inches).
Open the snap clips on the vibration damping pier and
12
remove the top.
Lay the cryogenic transfer line into the large slot on the
13
left on the vibration damping pier.
Lay the vacuum line into the large slot on the right.
14
Lay the probe/CryoBay temperature control cable into
15
the small slot.
Lay the probe vacuum valve pneumatic line into the
16
small slot.
If desired, other cables (such as, CryoBay sample eject
17
pneumatic line) may be laid into the small slot.
18
Replace the vibration damping pier top. Check that the
lines and cables are not pinched.
Fasten both snaps, adjusting the tension if necessary.
