Cryogenic Operation

Connect the vacuum system to the probe vacuum chamber

Connect the vacuum system to the probe vacuum

chamber.
A flexible vacuum line connects the CryoBay vacuum
system to the vacuum flange of the probe. When not in
use, the vacuum line should be capped with a NW25
blanking plate, O- ring and clamp.
Remove the NW25 blanking plate. This will break the
vacuum seal. Retain the plate for future use.
Connect the flexible vacuum line from the CryoBay to
the probe vacuum flange with the provided clamp and
O- ring.
Verify that the O- ring and clamp are correctly seated.
The two mating flanges should be parallel to each
other.
The vacuum clamp is magnetic. Use appropriate care when handling it
around the magnet
Connect the Pneumatic Air Line to the Probe Vacuum

Valve. The pneumatic air line from the CryoBay (labeled
Pneumatics: Probe) screws into the probe vacuum valve.
Connect the Temperature Control Cable from the

CryoBay to the Probe. The temperature control cable has
a breakout connector for attaching the PFG cable.
Open the CryoBay Controls Window.

Open the CryoBay Main window.
Click on Connect.
CryoBay connections OK should be displayed in the
Vnmrj Message Bar.
Verify that the system status is Idle or Safe.
If in Safe state, see
Event"
on page 103, before proceeding.
Click on the Controls button. The CryoBay Controls
popup window appears.

Load the Correct Temperature Calibration File.
