The action that the CryoBay takes depends on the fault. The
following are possible CryoBay initiated actions.
Action
CryoBay will continue with the current action (such as Operating). User should monitor or
correct the situation if possible.
CryoBay will return the system to the Idle state. Usually only applicable during Vacuum
Pumping.
CryoBay behaves as if Stop has been selected.
See
"Operation Cycle, Status Messages, and States"
User should:
1 Halt NMR.
2 Eject sample.
3 Verify that all capacitors are two or more turns away from either extreme of their range.
CryoBay takes actions to prevent damage to the equipment. This message is usually
associated with significant failures, such as gross failure of the vacuum system, dramatic
sudden loss of helium pressure, or inability to read probe temperature.
CryoBay does the following:
Halts NMR (VNMRJ version only).
Closes all valves (including probe valve).
Supplies eject air.
Turns off compressor.
Turns off vacuum pumps.
There is no accelerated warm-up of CCC.
User should:
1 Halt NMR.
2 Verify that all capacitors are 2 or more turns away from either extreme of their range. See
"Recovering from an Unexpected Event"
VnmrJ: Open the Vnmrj Message Bar, then close it.
Stand-Alone CryoBay Control Computer: Click Info, opening a message window, then close
it.
ALWAYS confirm that the cause of the cryogenic system shutdown
has been correctly identified and resolved before restarting cooling.
Check the error log. Failure to do so may cause damage to
equipment. If in doubt, contact Customer Service.
