4.6.5 USB interfaces
APC3100 devices are equipped with a Universal Serial Bus 3.0 (USB 3.0) host controller with several USB ports.
There are 4 USB 3.0 interfaces routed externally and freely available for the user. An additional USB 2.0 interface
located inside the device.
Warning!
USB peripheral devices can be connected to the USB interfaces. Due to the variety of USB devices
available on the market, B&R cannot guarantee their functionality. The functionality of USB devices
available from B&R is ensured.
Caution!
Due to the general PC specification, this interface must be handled with the utmost care with regard
to EMC, cable routing, etc.

Each USB interface is protected by a maintenance-free "USB current-limiting switch" (max. 1 A).
A USB 2.0 interface is available internally for the Technology Guard. The system unit must be opened for replace-
ment or retrofitting.
