5.3 Installing the AP1000 with clamping blocks

The Automation Panel 1000 is installed in the installation cutout using clamping blocks. The number of clamping
blocks depends on the panel.
The following Automation Panel 1000 systems are installed using clamping blocks:
• 5AP1181.1043-000
• 5AP1182.1043-000
• 5AP1120.1214-000
• 5AP1120.1505-000
• 5AP1180.1505-000
• 5AP1181.1505-000
• 5AP1120.1906-000
The thickness of the wall or control cabinet plate must be at least 2 mm and is not permitted to exceed 10 mm.
A 3 mm hex screwdriver is needed to tighten or remove the screw on the clamping block. The maximum tightening
torque of the screw is 0.5 Nm.
The device must be installed on a flat, clean and burr-free surface since tightening screws on an uneven area can
result in damage to the display or the ingress of dust and water.
Procedure
1. Insert the device into the front of the prepared, burr-free and flat installation cutout.
For the dimensions of the installation cutout and the number of clamping blocks for the panel, see section
"Installation diagrams" on page
2. Secure the clamping blocks to the wall or control cabinet plate (1) by alternately tightening the mounting
screws with a 3 mm hex screwdriver. The mounting screws push the clamping lever downwards, which in
turn clamps the device to the wall or control cabinet plate. The tightening torque for optimal sealing should
be max. 0.5 Nm.
