Manually Filling the Melter Tank

Before filling the tank, confirm that the hot melt material is compatible with
the melter.
NOTE: You should never have to manually fill a Melt-on-Demand system,
but if you must manually fill the tank, never go above the sensor.
WARNING! Hot! Risk of burns. Wear heat‐protective clothing, safety
goggles, and/or heat‐protective gloves. Hot melt material may be released
forcefully.
CAUTION: Use a scoop to fill the tank with hot melt. Never use your bare
hands. Using your bare hands to fill the tank may result in personal injury.
1. Open the tank lid.

2. Fill the tank with adhesive, but do not go above the sensor, as shown in
Figure 4. The level sensor on Melt-on Demand systems is located
towards the bottom of the tank and is mounted on the horizontal. Above
the sensor is not heated. Filling above the sensor may cause charring to
occur on the sensor, Along with adhesive build-up.
3. Close the tank lid when you are finished filling the tank.
