AutoTuning Heated Zones

Use AutoTune to improve the regulation and control of the external heated
zones. You must use a PLC or the touch screen version to perform this task.
NOTES:
S
The external zones that you want to tune must be enabled and at set
point temperature for at least 15 minutes.
S
The melter status must be at Temperature Ready.
S
The Master Pump Control is not required to be switched On.
S
Once you AutoTune the zones, you do not have to repeat this process
again.
S
The tuning process takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes per zone.
S
The external zones that you want to tune must be enabled and at set
point temperature for at least 15 minutes.
S
The melter must be in a Temperature Ready state.

Calibrating the Tank Level Sensor

Use AutoTune to improve the regulation and control of the external heated
zones. You must use a PLC or the touch screen version to perform this task.
There are two types of tank calibrations:
S
Calibrate Empty
S
Calibrate Full
Although the melter is calibrated empty at the factory, you can also calibrate
full at any time to increase the accuracy of the level sensor. Typically, this
only has to be done one time.
NOTES:
S
The adhesive in the tank can be either in a molten state or cold.
S
If you are performing an empty calibration, you may want to drain the tank
to get as much of the adhesive out of the tank.
1. Make sure the melter is in a Temperature Ready state. Specifically, the
tank is at set point.
2. Do the following to continue:
S
To perform an empty calibration, make sure there is little to no
adhesive in the tank.
S
To perform a full calibration, make sure adhesive covers up the level
sensor in the tank.
