Additional Notes about Tandem (ROF) Marks

Setting up the tandem mark is part of creating an application definition. Listed below
are some notes to assist you in working with tandem marks:
• On the Tandem (ROF) Mark sub-tab, selecting Paper Display for the paper you intend
to print will show if the form location is off the paper. If the ROF location is inside
the paper width, a green check mark appears with a statement that the ROF mark
location is valid.
Tip
If the tandem mark does not fit inside the measured width, a fault is declared when
you go online. Since the measured width can vary due to paper and / or sensor
variation, you might get an XPE-15-3090 fault going online even if no changes have
been made to the mark position. Because this is most likely to happen for ROF marks
positioned on the inboard / rear side of the primary CiPress , it is good practice to
put the ROF mark on either:
- The outboard edge (X location - 0.0157 inch / 0.4 mm)
- The center of the frame
Faults will be declared if any portion of a mark is less than 0.0118 inch / 0.3 mm from
the edge erase margin of the CiPress ; therefore, X location values less than 0.0118
inch / 0.3 mm will declare a fault.
