The procedures in this section explain how to inspect and clean the CiPress . It is expected
that normal production results in web roll surfaces becoming contaminated with ink
build-up and web dust.

As the web moves from right to left through the CiPress , the cleaning procedures in this
section move from the Infeed Module, to the Right Marking Module, to the left Marking
Module, and through the Outfeed Module. After cleaning the paper path, continue to
clean the Exterior Printer Cover Doors, Touch Screen, and the FreeFlow Print Server Rack
and CIP Enclosure.

General Web Path Cleaning Tips

• In the case of substantial ink accumulations, a plastic scraper may be used to gently
scrape off the ink.
• For a thin film or smear of ink, use the Mineral Spirit Wipe to clean the surface.
