Operating the CiPress User Interface
• The state of each print line component as indicated not only by words (such as Ready
or Not Ready) but also color shading of the icon, for example, red for Error or yellow
for Not Ready.
Message and Status Bar
The Message and Status Bar appears below the print line components display and
consists of four elements. With the exception of the PPE (Pre and / or Post Processing
Equipment) Status Area, each element reflects the current status of the CiPress attached
to the specific user interface hardware.
Note
The Message and Status bar is in each of the CiPress views.
Main Message Area
This area is used primarily for presenting fault / error messages, however, it may also be
used to present informational messages. When displaying fault / error messages, the
highest priority message currently in the Run view Error Message Table appears.
Service Code Area
A nine-digit service codes displays here when an error condition is present.
PPE Status Area
The PPE status provides a summary of all the pre- and post-finishing devices on the
currently- selected print line. The statuses are:
• Ready (Green) - The Ready state indicates all PPEs in the selected print line are ready.
• Not Ready (Yellow) - The Not Ready state indicates that at least one PPE is not ready.
• Error (Red) - The Error state indicated that at least one PPE is in error.
As an example, if one device is Ready and another device is Not Ready, the summary
state is the lower value of the states. In this case, the summary state would be Not
Ready.
CiPress Status Area
The CiPress status is the state of the CiPress connected to the touch screen user
interface. This status appears to the right of the PPE state area. Printer states are:
• Warm Up or Not Ready (Yellow background)
• Error (Red background)
• Ready or Printing (Green background)
Note
This status is only for the CiPress connected to the UI. If you have a second CiPress
in your configuration, the status for the second CiPress is displayed on one of the
icons in the Print Line.
