Within the Paper Path sub-tab, the following functions are available:
• Creating, saving, naming, deleting and importing / exporting Paper Path definitions
to the Run view
• Mark selection
• Device selection and Print Line assembly
• Page side printing selection
• Inter-device distance control
1. In the Definitions view, select the Print Line tab and then select the Paper Path
sub-tab.
2. Select the New icon.
By default, a print engine icon already displays at the bottom of the window. This
icon represents the primary, or upstream, Printer.
Note
Selecting the New icon removes any currently displayed print line and replaces it with
a single Printer puzzle piece. The Printer on the puzzle piece is the same one associated
with the Printer UI from which you are defining the new print line.
3. From the Device menu, select a device to add to the print line and select Add.
The device icon is added to the primary printer in the correct inline position with a
default distance of 0 inches. Also, a red asterisk is placed next to the current name
of the line to indicate the Paper Path is being modified.
Note
If the devices you need for a print line definition are not listed in the Device menu
on the Paper Path sub-tab, you can add them using the Devices sub-tab.
When you add a device, it is placed in the first and most logical position in the print
line assembly area. If it can be placed in more than one location, it is placed in the
first valid location at the left end of the print line. If there is more than one valid
location for a device, one or both of the arrow buttons become available. Use these
arrows to move the device to the left or right to position the device correctly.
Adding a device results in the appearance of an inter-device button between two
devices.
4. To change the distance between the devices, select the inter-device button. (The
default text on the button is 0 inches).
