Adding Marks for a Print Line Definition

If the marks you need for a print line definition are not listed in the Marks menu on the
Paper Path sub-tab, you can add them using the Marks sub-tab on the Print Line tab.
The CiPress will print ROF, TOF, and Page ID marks on the paper. You have some
flexibility in placing these marks in certain regions of the sheet. Placement can vary
based on pinfed media versus pinless media.
You can control whether waste frames include a finishing mark. Under Print Line setup,
marks can be defined to apply to All Pages (which includes waste pages) or to Job Pages
(which excludes waste pages).
1. In the Definitions view, select the Print Line tab and then the Marks sub-tab.
2. Select the New icon.
3. Select the New button located at the bottom of the window.
The New Mark window opens.
Note
The New button is different from the standard New icon control.
4. Select the unit of measurement, either Inch or MM, next to each of the four settings.
5. Select the Height field.
The number pad opens.
Note
For incremental changes, use the + or - buttons to set the value instead of selecting
the field.
6. Type or select the numerical height value and select OK.
The number pad closes and the new value displays in the Height field.
7. Set the remaining values for Width, X Location, and Y Location for the mark.
Tip
Marks cannot be placed at a Y Location of zero.
The selection appears on the Mark Printer menu.
8. From the Mark Printer menu, select Upstream or Downstream to identify the print
engine that will print the mark.
9. From the Mark Enablement menu, select the pages to be printed with the mark:
• All Pages
• Alignment Pages
• On AOS Command
• Job Pages
