RS-232
RS-232 communication with the base unit requires the NLC-MOD-RS232 option module
(Order No. 2701179) installed in Slot 1 and NLC-PC/SERIAL-CBL 1M (Order No. 2701234).
For installation procedures, refer to "Option modules" on page 14. The cable connects
between the RJ11 connector on the option module and a D-SUB 9 serial port on a PC.

Before communication can be established, configure the port to communicate with the
Nanoline.
1.
Open the "Start... Control Panel... System" dialog box, click the "Hardware" tab, then
click the "Device Manager" button.
2.
Click the + icon next to Ports to expand the selections.
3.
Double-click the desired port (COM1) to open the "Communications Port" dialog box.
4.
Click the "Port Settings" tab. Set the various fields as follows:
Bits per second
Data bits
Parity
Stop bits
Flow control
5.
Click the "OK" button when finished.
