When enabled ANMls come in on NMI or IRQI0 (see sections 5.4.1 and 5.4.2), it is the responsibility
of users to ensure that IRQ 10-if used-is enabled
via
the 8259 and that an appropriate interrupt handler
or NMI handler is provided. MS-DOS allows users to directly manipulate the 8259 and the interrupt
vector table. Other operating systems usually provide a service for attaching to and enabling specific
PC/AT IRQs, but tend to be less flexible when dealing with NMls. Check the operating system
documentation for proper NMI handling.
