Configuring the Unit Controller
The MicroTech II Chiller Controller and the LONWORKS
Communication Module are both designed, programmed,
and configured at the factory to be a chiller unit controller in
accordance with the LONMARK chiller functional profile. The
unit is ready to operate with the default values of the various
parameters set at the factory. No additional programming is
required to make this a chiller unit controller. However, you
may want to change some parameters in order to make it fit
into your system better.
Default values may be changed with the unit's keypad or
via the network. Refer to the appropriate operation manual
for default values and keypad operating instructions (see
Reference Documents section for details.)

LONWORKS Data Integrity
1. With nciDefaults set to zero (0) and nciRcvHrtbt set to
zero (0):
— Nvi variable values are cleared on a loss of power;
on restoration of power, the controller will use the
values of the following nci variables: nciCapacityLim,
nciChillerEnable, nciCoolSetpt, nciHeatSetpt, and
nciMode.
— Nvi variable values remain and continue to be used
on a loss of communications.
2. With nciDefaults set to zero (0) and nciRcvHrtbt greater
than zero (0):
— Nvi variable values are cleared on a loss of power;
on restoration of power, the controller will use the
values of the following nci variables: nciCapacityLim,
nciChillerEnable, nciCoolSetpt, nciHeatSetpt, and
nciMode.
— Nvi variable values remain and continue to be used
on a loss of communications until the Receive
Heartbeat (nciRcvHrtbt) time expires, after which,
the values of the following nci variables will be used
by the controller: nciCapacityLim, nciChillerEnable,
nciCoolSetpt, nciHeatSetpt, and nciMode.
3. With nciDefaults set to zero (1) and nciRcvHrtbt equal to
or greater than zero (0):
— The last known value of nvi variables will be used on
a loss of power or a loss of communications.
