The IPPV mode is used for mandatory volume-controlled
ventilation with a fixed tidal volume. This mode is used on patients
who have no spontaneous respiration. However, a spontaneously
breathing patient can breathe deeply and freely during expiration.
The set maximum pressure limitation (pMax) ensures the safety of
the patient.
