MAINTENANCE
Check the gap between the center and side elec-
trodes with a wire-type feeler gauge .

SPARK PLUG GAP: 1.0 - 1.1
mm
(0.039 - 0.043 in)
1.0-1.1 mm

If
necessary,
adjust the gap by bending the side
electrode carefully.

Thread the spa rk plug in by hand to prevent cross-
threading and tighten it with a spark plug w rench .
TORQUE: 22 N 'm (2.2 kgf·m , 16 Ibf.ft)

Connect t he spark p lug cap.
Install the seat center cover (page 3-5).

Release the retaining straps and open the front , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ,
hood.
Release t he cover lab and remove the box cover
f rom the tab of t he battery box.
Check the battery for loose connections or corroded
terminals.
