Maintaining Your GC
Clean the inlet if there is visible or suspected contamination.

Clean O-ring residue from sealing surface.
Wear clean, lint-free gloves to prevent contamination of parts with
dirt and skin oils.

Slide a new O-ring onto the replacement liner.

Return the liner to the inlet, pushing it all the way in until
the liner contacts the gold seal.

Replace the insert retainer nut, tightening it to firm
finger-tightness. Do not overtighten.
If using the Flip-Top inlet, close the lever arm.

Turn on the inlet. Allow the inlet and column to purge with
carrier gas for 15 minutes before heating the inlet or the
column oven.
Bakeout contaminants. (See

Restore the analytical method.
Check for leaks.
