Information on the compressed-air
reservoir
For first-time buyers and other users
Accompanying documentation in accordance
with directives 87/404/EEC and EN 286-2
The reservoir is:
a – only intended for use in compressed-air
systems and auxiliary equipment on
motor vehicles and their trailers, and is
only to be used to hold compressed air.
b
to be marked for identification with a
works number and the reservoir manu-
facturer's name, together with the prin-
cipal operating data and the EC mark –
see the identification plate or engravings
directly on the reservoir wall.
c – manufactured under a "Declaration of
conformity" in accordance with Arti-
cle 12 of Directive 87/404/EEC.

to be secured to the vehicle by tensioning
straps (clamps).
In the case of aluminium reservoirs, con-
tact surface points must be designed to

not come in contact with the base con-
necting seams; the reservoir is not to be
subjected to any stress that would jeop-
ardise operating safety.
Coatings applied to aluminium reservoirs
must not contain lead, and the top coat of
paint must only be applied over a suitable
primer coat. Steel threaded connections
for aluminium reservoirs must have a cor-
rosion-proof coating.
