2.8.1 Drum Charge

• The Drum is charged with static electricity before LED exposure. The Rotating Charge Brush is used for
the charging method.
• The rotating brush drum charging generates little ozone in the printer. Because the charge is directly
given to the Drum, the Drum can be charged by low voltage. At the same time, the Drum can be
charged stably and evenly.

2.8.2 Drum Exposure

The light makes an invisible static image from the LED print head.
The LED print head, located inside the printer cover, closes down over the drum and projects light onto
the drum surface. When the document is to be printed, individual elements in the LED print head turn on
and expose the drum where a dark area should appear in the document.

2.8.3 Development

Toner is applied to the invisible static image on the Drum and a toner image is created on the surface.
