Authentication Settings

The Network Authentcaton feature supports Kerberos, the hghest securty
level wthn Actve Drectory. Ths product ncludes RSA BSAFE
software from RSA Securty Inc. When the settng s actvated, users must enter
ther doman user name and password to authentcate themselves and access the
machne.

Open the "Admn Tools" screen. (See page 4-4.)

Clck [Authentcaton Settngs].
The �Authentication �ettings�� screen �ill appear.

When you are finshed, clck [Save] to save the settngs.

Select the server type.
"Actve Drectory" - If your server s Wndows 2000 server
"Wndows NT" - If your server s Wndows NT Server.
"None" - To cancel the settng, select ths.
NOTE
• The DNS server should be set up when usng the
authentcaton mode wth Actve Drectory (Wndows
2000 server/ Wndows Server 2003).
If you are usng Actve Drectory, the "Wndows Tme
Servce" must be actvated on the Actve Drectory.
The WINS settngs should be set up when usng the
authentcaton mode wth Wndows NT Server 4.0.
If you are usng Wndows NT Server 4.0, the verson
must be Servce Pack 4 or later.
Enter the Doman Name.
NOTE
• In Actve Drectory, the doman name may contan up
to 64 characters.
In Wndows NT Server 4.0, the doman name may
contan up to 15 characters.
Select the mode that requres the authentcaton.
