Descrptons
Enter the doman name or IP address of the
SMTP server used for sendng e-mal.
When enterng a doman name, you can enter
up to 50 characters.

NOTE
• Even f the SMTP server and the POP3
server are the same server, set both.
Enter the user ID for the POP3 server.

Set the nterval at whch the mal server s
checked for new mal. The mnmum value s 5
seconds and the maxmum s 99 hr 59 mn 59
sec.
The default settng s 10 mnutes.
If you want to check for mal manually, set
all of these values to "0". In ths case, you can
receve an arrved e-mal by the followng
procedures.

1. Press <FAX> on the control panel of your
machne.
2. Press [Others] on the dsplay.
3. Press [Next] to show the next screen.
4. Press [Check Mal].
For some provders, POP authentcaton s
requred before sendng (send request to SMTP
server). In ths case, check ths tem.
Enter the SMTP port number. (0–65535)
Normally, set to "25".
Enter the POP port number. (0–65535)
Normally, set to "110".
APOP (Authentcated POP) s a POP securty
protocol that encrypts the POP password when
connectng wth the POP server.
If APOP s avalable on the POP server you are
usng, select "APOP". Otherwse, select "Stan-
dard".

SMTP server you are usng requres authent-
caton.
