Brake systems - Edition 11.2018
– Release fixing nuts -arrows-.
– Remove the brake servo unit downwards out of the vehicle.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing,
observe the following:
– Clip the brake pedal onto the brake servo

– Fill up with new brake fluid.
– Bleed brake system

Vehicles fitted with a manual gearbox

clutch mechanism .
Tightening torques - summaries of components
Note
Replace bolts / nuts that are tightened at an angle of rotation, as
well as replacement components after removal.

Removing and installing brake servo,
right-hand drive with petrol engine
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Brake filling and bleeding device , e. g. -VAS 5234-
♦ Extraction bottle (commercially available)
♦ Repair kit - 1H0 698 311 A-
– Remove pre-exhaust pipe with catalytic converter ⇒ Rep. gr.
26 ; Exhaust pipes/silencer .
Note
Repairs may only be carried out in specialist service centres
which have suitably trained personnel and are fitted out for work‐
ing on the refrigerant circuit.
– Empty the refrigerant circuit with the aid of the A/C service
station .
Note
Observe safety precautions when working on the air conditioning
system and working with the refrigerant.
