M320 Performance for Different SIB Configurations

Table 52: Performance per SIB/FPC Configuration

Number of Active
SIBs
FPC Type and Number of PICs per FPC
1
FPC1 with up to four PICs
FPC2 with up to two PICs (except when both PICs
are 4-port GE PICs)
FPC2 with two 4-port GE PICs
FPC2 with three or four PICs
FPC3 with one or two PICs
2
FPC1 with up to four PICs
FPC2 with up to four PICs (except when all PICS
are 4-port GE PICs)
FPC2 with four 4-port GE PICs
FPC2 with three 4-port GE PICs
FPC3 with two PICs
FPC3 with one PIC

Switch Fabric ASICs.
High-speed links (HSLs) to each FPC.
Three LEDs located on the SIB faceplate that display the status of the SIB. See

81.
SIB online/offline button, located on the SIB faceplate.

Table 52 on page 80
describes expected performance per total active SIBs for different
FPC and PIC configurations. The packet forwarding rate of each FPC is independent of
the number and configuration of other FPCs in the chassis. The packet forwarding rate
depends on the total number of PICs in the FPC, the number of active SIBs in the chassis,
and packet size.
