To remove an SSD:
Disable and deactivate the SSD.

Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to an ESD point on the chassis.
Unfasten the thumbscrew that secures the access door in front of the SSD slots, and
3.
open the door.
Slide the lock on the ejector to the unlocked position.
4.
Carefully slide the SSD out of the slot.
5.
To install an SSD:
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to an ESD point on the chassis.
Carefully align the sides of the SSD with the guides in the slot.

Slide the SSD into the slot until you feel resistance, carefully ensuring that it is correctly

aligned.
Close the access door and tighten the thumbscrew to secure the door.

Mount the new SSD.

The slots labeled
PC CARD
defined in the PC Card Standard published by the Personal Computer Memory Card
International Association (PCMCIA). The router is shipped with a PC Card that contains
the Junos OS. The PC Card can be used to copy Junos OS from the PC Card onto the
Routing Engine. You can also copy Junos OS from the Routing Engine onto a PC Card,
for example, to create a backup copy of upgrade software that you have obtained from
Juniper Networks. Instructions for copying software to a PC Card are available at the
Chapter 26: Replacing Host Subsystem Components
on the Routing Engine faceplate accept a Type I PC Card, as
