The M320 router uses either AC power supplies (see
Description" on page
73), isolated DC power supplies, or nonisolated DC power supplies
(see
"M320 DC Power Supplies Description" on page
to the midplane, which distributes the different output voltages produced by the power
supplies to the router components, depending on their voltage requirements. All power
supplies are hot-removable and hot-insertable. Each power supply is cooled by its own
internal cooling system.
The M320 router is configurable with:
Two, three, or four AC power supplies
Two or four DC power supplies (either isolated or nonisolated)
CAUTION:
Mixing AC and DC power supplies is not supported and prevents
the router from powering on. You must ensure that all power supplies are the
same model number.
