CAUTION:
The low servo assembly
spring
force
is very high.
Use extreme
care when
disassem­
bling or
assembling,
1. Remove low servo secondary piston seal.
2. Mount J 22269 in vise,
compress primary
piston in J 22269 (Fig, 7F-70) and remove snap
ring. Remove primary piston, springs, apply pin and
washer from secondary piston assembly.

INSPECTION AND REPAIR
Visually examine parts for damage or wear. Dis­
card worn or damaged parts. Remove and discard
piston oil seal ring.
ASSEMBLY
1. Install washer into secondary piston assembly
(Fig. 7F-71).
2. Install cushion and return springs into secondary
piston assembly (Fig. 7F-71).
3. Install apply pin to primary piston by com­
pressing in J 22269 (Fig. 7F-70). Install retaining
snap ring.
4. Remove tool and install new secondary piston
seal.
OIL
PUMP
DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove the two hook-type oil seal rings from
pump hub (Fig. 7F-72).
2. Remove pump cover to forward clutch drum
thrust washer.
3. Remove and discard oil pump to case seal.
4. Support oil pump on wood blocks. Remove five
pump cover bolts and remove pump cover.

Identify gear faces so that gears can be re­
assembled
in their original position and remove
drive and driven gears.
6. If necessary, remove converter blow off valve.
Depress
converter
blow
off valve spring (Fig.
7F-73).
Remove retaining pin, spring and valve.
