16.2 Serial Communi-

Intermec EasyCoder 501 XP & 601 XP – Service Manual
The EasyCoder 501 XP and 601 XP are—as standard—always
fi tted with one RS-232 communication port. In Intermec Finger-
print, this port is designated "uart1:" (Universal Asynchronous
Receiver and Transmitter). The circuitry is fi tted on the CPU board
(see Chapter 15) and has a fi xed set of signals in a DB-25pin
male connector which protrudes through a slot in the printer's rear
plate.
By default, the printer is set up as follows:
Baud rate .................... :
Parity .......................... :
Char. length ................ :
Stop bits ..................... :
RTS/CTS .................... :
ENQ/ACK.................. :
XON/XOFF ............... :
New line ..................... :
The external +5V is limited to 200 mA and is automatically
switched off at overload. It is intended to drive for example an
external alphanumeric keyboard or a bar code reader.
