If the configuration file or pre-configuration script is downloaded from the server, any saved
startup-configuration on the Flash is ignored. If no configuration file is downloaded from the
server, the startup-configuration file on the Flash is loaded as in Normal reload.
6. When the FTOS build image and the configuration file have been downloaded, the IP address is
released.

7. The system applies the configuration. The system is now up and running. It can be managed as usual.

BMP mode: Boot and Set-up Behavior

When a switch that is configured to reload in BMP mode boots up, one of the following scenarios may
occur:
Reload without a DHCP Server Offer
Reload with a DHCP Server Offer without an FTOS Image
Reload with a DHCP Server Offer without a Configuration File
Reload with a DHCP Server Offer without a DNS Server
Reload with a Pre-configuration Script (BMP mode only)
Using the Post-Configuration Script (BMP mode only)
