config mpls health-check add mplsping [<ipaddress> | prefix
<ipaddress/masklength> | <host_name> | lsp <lsp_name>]{interval-time
<seconds>} {trap-send-holdtime <seconds>}
Description
Configures an MPLS tunnel LSP service connectivity health-check.
Syntax Description
ipaddress
Option for specifying the forwarding equivalence class (FEC).
ipaddress/masklength
Option for specifying the FEC.
host_name
Option for specifying the FEC. Must be able to be resolved to an IP address.
lsp_name
Configures the tunnel LSP health-check
interval-time
Determines the rate at which ping packets are sent.
trap-send-holdtime
Specifies the interval after interval-time when service connectivity is considered down if
there is no echo response.
Default
interval-time range - 60 seconds
trap-send-holdtime range - 10 seconds
Usage Guidelines
This command configures a MPLS tunnel LSP service connectivity health-check. The health-check
command can be used to configure recurring tunnel LSP connectivity checks. If the configured tunnel
LSP connectivity is lost, a trap is sent to alert management stations of a possible service failure and an
error message is logged. Connectivity is verified by sending an MPLS ping packet. Up to 256 mplsping
health-checks can be configured.
Ping packets are sent at the rate specified by the

range is 10 to 600 seconds with a default value of 60 seconds. The valid
interval-time
range is 3 to 30 seconds with a default value of 10 seconds and must be less that

interval-time
minimize service disconnect "false alerts", when an echo request has not been received within
/3 seconds, echo requests are sent in rapid succession at a rate of one per second.
trap-send-holdtime
This operation continues until an echo response is received or the trap-send-holdtime expires. If an echo
response is received before the
immediately stopped and the service is deemed connected.
Specifying the LSP FEC configures the tunnel LSP health-check. The FEC can be specified using the

host_name parameter, the DNS client must be configured so that the host_name can first be resolved to
an IP address. The resolved host name IP address is assumed to be a /32 prefix. If there is more than
one outgoing LSP that matches the FEC, only one is used. For RSVP-TE LSPs, the FEC is implied from
the LSP configuration. Thus, the
