Step 2 Make sure that the spare part is the same as the one to be replaced in terms of
name, model, and parameters. If they do not meet the requirements, contact
Huawei GTAC.
Step 3 Record the slot of the FAN board.
Step 4 Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two captive screws of the fan board
counterclockwise.
Step 5 Grasp the handle in the middle of the fan board steadily and remove the fan
board slowly. When the removal comes in the middle, use your palm to support
the lower edge and continue removing the fan board until it is entirely out of the
chassis.
Step 6 Grasp the handle in the middle of the new fan board, and steadily insert the new
fan board along the conduit of the chassis.
Step 7 Use a Phillips screwdriver to fasten the two captive screws of the fan board
clockwise, fix the new fan board, and observe the indicator.
Step 8 Log in to the device and run the display fan command to query the running
status of the new FAN.

Follow-up Procedure
After replacing a part, collect the tools. If the part is faulty, maintenance personnel
should fill in the Offsite Repair Card for Faulty Materials, and send the card and
the faulty part to Huawei for timely maintenance.
4.1.2.8 Replacing the Optical Module
Impact on the System
If optical modules are not in service protection, replacement of an optical module
will cause service interruption.
