5. Check the printer interface to make sure that the new cartridge is detected
Tips about loading and replacing material cartridges:
You can replace material cartridges either before or during printing. If you
l
do so while printing, make sure to load the new cartridge and close the
materials drawer within three minutes. This ensures that the print job is not
interrupted. (When the drawer is open, the cartridges are not displayed in
the printer interface.)
You can load partially used cartridges, provided that they contain more than
l
100 grams of material.
It recommended that you always have two material cartridges loaded in the
l
printer. When the weight of the material in one cartridge drops below 100
grams, the printer pumps material from both cartridges until one is empty. If
only one cartridge is used, printing stops when the weight of the material
drops below 100 grams. (Similarly, printing stops if the weight in both
cartridges is below this level.)
Note: Objet Studio does not display the weight of material in a cartridge if

l
during printing. However, repeated removal and installation of a cartridge
may cause the material in it to leak. Therefore, it is recommended that you
limit the re-installation of used cartridges.
The cartridge type is automatically detected by the printer. If you replace a
l
cartridge containing different Model material, a message appears
recommending that you run the Material Replacement wizard to flush out
the old material.
If printing stops for an extended time before you replace a material
l
cartridge, the printer may go into Standby or Idle mode. If this happens, see
"Resuming Production After Printing has Stopped" on page 6-15.
