The BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler Main Window
The BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler consists of an instrument and a computer workstation. The
instrument processes the slides and calculates the slide results. The workstation, consisting of a
computer and a color monitor, runs the workstation software that displays the windows-based,
graphical Main Window. This section describes the Main Window in detail and provides
information on how to use it.
Some of the tasks to perform from the workstation include:
•
Main Window navigation
•
viewing online help files
•
viewing the processing status of the instrument connected to the workstation
•
setting report printing options
•
printing and reprint reports
•
viewing various system and usage statistics
•
ejecting the tray
The various components of the Main Window are described in the following sections.
•
Main Window (Section 11.1) describes the BD FocalPoint™ Slide Profiler home screen
which is used as the starting point for all interactions with the system.
•
Help Icon (Section 11.1.1) describes the question mark symbol at the top right of the Main
Window.
•
Instrument Icons (Section 11.1.2) describes the instrument icons, located along the left side
of the Main Window, which display the operating status of the instrument.
•
Instrument Status (Section 11.1.3) describes the instrument name, intended use, operating
mode, auto printing status and unreported qualified slides.
•
Processed Slides (Section 11.1.4) displays a list of processed slides and information about
each processed slide.
•
Task Buttons (Section 11.1.5) describes the commands located at the bottom of the home
screen: Report, Reprint, and Utilities. Use these commands to print and reprint reports, and
to view the Utilities screen.
